What happens if I decide to go to BARN?
When you call our offices, our caring staff will answer your questions, and assist you in setting up an evaluation.
You can expect that your evaluation will last two to three days and will consist of the following:
  • Medical Evaluation and Clearance before admission.
  • Laboratory testing as needed.
  • Medical Detoxification if needed.
  • Addiction Medicine Evaluation (all 6 ASAM Dimensions Assignment of "Readiness to Change" stages).
  • Psychiatric Evaluation with specific expertise in the psychopharmacology of addiction.
  • Psychological testing as needed.
  • Strong advocacy to return to work upon completion of the program.

In addition we offer:

  • 40 Day Out Patient Program for local residents.
  • Outpatient Individual Psychotherapy, Group, and Network Therapy.
  • 3 Day "Fitness for Duty", Return to work evaluations.
  • 5 Day Relapse Autopsy and Analysis.
After your initial evaluation, if the treatment team agrees that you must meet criteria for residential treatment, you will be introduced to and become a member of the therapeutic community. The competent staff at BARN will assist you in this transition and make sure that everything runs smoothly, and that you fully understand what is about to happen. This includes financial and insurance arrangements, living accomodations, passes to get meals, access to the excercise center, explanation and understanding of rules and regulations. As a professional who has been newly diagnosed with or has relapsed back into addiction, your life has probably just experienced some very frightening changes, and we do not want to add any unpleasant surprises.
